About the Commerce Team
The Commerce (Recommendations & Merchandising) team builds intelligent commerce experiences that power product recommendations, merchandising, search, and personalization for e-commerce businesses.
Our platform processes large volumes of commerce data and provides modern web applications that enable customers to configure, manage, and optimize product discovery and merchandising experiences.
As part of the team, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to build fast, intuitive, and scalable user experiences using modern frontend technologies.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Frontend Senior Software Engineer with 3-6 years of experience who enjoys building high-quality web applications and solving real-world product and engineering problems.
You’ll primarily work with React and TypeScript, building modern, responsive, and reusable user interfaces for our Commerce products.
This is a product engineering role rather than just a UI implementation role. You’ll participate in technical discussions, understand product requirements, work closely with backend engineers, integrate APIs, manage application state, improve performance, and own features from development through production.
We’re looking for engineers who care about both how a product works and how it feels to use.
What You'll Do
- Build and ship high-quality web applications using React and TypeScript.
- Develop reusable, maintainable, and scalable frontend components and features.
- Translate product and design requirements into intuitive user experiences.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Backend Engineers, and QA Engineers to deliver end-to-end features.
- Integrate frontend applications with REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Manage application state and complex client-side interactions.
- Build responsive interfaces that work consistently across browsers and screen sizes.
- Improve frontend performance, including page load times, rendering performance, and overall responsiveness.
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and frontend architecture decisions.
- Debug and troubleshoot frontend issues in development and production.
- Write automated tests and contribute to improving frontend engineering practices.
- Contribute to component libraries, design systems, and shared frontend infrastructure.
- Continuously improve developer experience through better tooling, automation, and engineering practices.
What We're Looking For
- 3–6 years of professional frontend/software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience building production applications using React or a comparable modern frontend framework.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and browser fundamentals.
- Experience building responsive and reusable user interfaces.
- Good understanding of React fundamentals such as components, hooks, state, props, and component lifecycle.
- Experience integrating frontend applications with REST or GraphQL APIs.
- Understanding of frontend state management and data-fetching patterns.
- Familiarity with Git, pull requests, code reviews, debugging, and automated testing.
- Understanding of frontend performance and common web performance challenges.
- Strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
- Experience building and shipping real production software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have
Experience with any of the following would be a plus:
- TypeScript
- GraphQL
- Next.js, Vite, or similar modern frontend tooling
- State management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, MobX, or equivalent
- React Query/TanStack Query or similar data-fetching libraries

We Hire for Fundamentals
We believe strong engineers can learn new technologies quickly.
While our frontend stack primarily uses React and TypeScript, we’re open to engineers who have built strong production applications using comparable modern technologies.
For example:
- React ↔ Angular, Vue, Next.js, Svelte
- Redux/Zustand ↔ MobX, Recoil, Pinia, NgRx or equivalent
- GraphQL ↔ REST APIs
- Vitest/Jest ↔ equivalent JavaScript testing frameworks

What matters most is your understanding of JavaScript, browser fundamentals, frontend architecture, component design, debugging, performance, and software engineering fundamentals.
